The Most Baroque Duchess draws on the abundance and curiosity of historical cabinets of curiosities. Reclaimed objects and their original ornaments become part of a new sculptural assemblage, combining a teapot and vase with handmade elements, crochet and gold leaf. The figure rises from this assemblage like an extravagant, almost grotesque lid, adding wit to its extravagant excess.
Mixed media, reclaimed ceramics, recycled filament, textile, crochet and gold leaf
Unique work, 82×21×21 cm
